All dressed up

Gary, Sara, Brett, Rach, Scott, Michelle and Glenn ready to head off for a night at the Mandalay. Photo courtesy of Michelle, don't blame her if you appear on this blog I'm doing all the posting to this blog with my own material and whatever people send to me. If anyone isn't happy about a photo appearing on this blog let me know and I can easily remove it. If you have a better photo that you would like posted simply scan and email it to me. I have also been very careful not to post anyone's full name but they do of course appear in some of the Pegasus and Exposure pages.

My apologies if I have upset anyone, it was certainly unintentional. I would love some input from any of you, good or bad, you can comment on each post of just email me privately.

Motutapu Island

Dale, William and Lisa

Our first school trip and it was a fun one out in the Hauraki Gulf at the Motutapu Island camp which was formerly an Artillery Camp in WWII. The bunk houses were very basic! Also remember someone coming to grief with a wasp nest while abseiling..........ouch! I think the 4th Form was split into two groups and went out at different times. Click on the group photo and see if you are there.

A trip over the Tasman

I returned to NZ in 1988 to catch up with friends, had a great time. I was a Registered Nurse in those days, worked in Sydney then moved out to western NSW to be nearer to my future husband whom I'd met the year previously while living in a nurses home while doing practical work during my university training. Here I am with Mark and Rick, must dig out some old albums and find some of the other photos, this one was lurking on the computer.

The latest wedding

Elizabeth (Liz) marries her Scottish lad in very glam style in 2005 and has since become a mum to little Flynn!

Our farm girl

Rach marries her ver tall, blonde and handsome Mike 26th March 1994. Michelle and Kim (Rick's wife) attended her.

7C with Mrs Thorne

The second 7th Form class photo comes from Michelle this evening, thank you. Now all we need is the third one to complete the set, I was in that class but sadly I don't have a copy of the photo. Someone must have one, step up now, scan it and email it over and it will be posted pronto.

The happy couple, both Pakuranga College students

I have lots of photos in my collection many thanks to friends who have kept me up to date over the years. I have a few more wedding photos to add. I would dearly love it if any of you could send photos past or present to share on this blog.

Sailing away

Young, happy and carefree

Liset sent the lovely shot of Scott, Michelle and Gayle and I also had been sent that photo and 2 others via Michelle many years back. The photos I have tell me it was Queen's Birthday weekend in 1987. Not sure who's boat it was or who the mustachio is.

Waiheke camping

This photo arrived by email from Liset, she loves the happy memories it evokes. Then I realised I have a collection of photos from the same camping trip on Waiheke Island in January 1985, sadly I had moved back to Australia by then and missed out on this great adventure. My photos were labelled by Pete so I will include his descriptions of each shot.

"Liset playing with someones hose"

" Rach in her flourescent togs and shampoo on Waiheke"

"Our campsite"

"Rach's bum and Gayle's back. Rach, Gayle, Michelle and Kim's tent."

"Me about to leap up and do the dishes (you must be joking)!"

"Waiting for the ponce in the truck at Matiatia"

Me and Mr Jones

This celebration was held only weeks before I was to return to live in Australia once again. I share my birthday on the 1st December with Michelle's dad Trevor, he's still a good friend of mine and I'm looking forward to catching up with him and Judy next year. I haven't seen him since I was over in 1993 to celebrate his 50th, so later this year I guess he is officially a pensioner............can't imagine that will please him. Anyway the Jones family generously hosted my 18th party at their home, it was a great night celebrating with friends, many of whom I still have regular contact with.

Six years after that night I married on my 24th birthday and Michelle was one of my bridesmaids, our friendship has continued over the years since we met back in 3S with Mrs Stedman in 1980. Who else out there keeps in contact with old Pakuranga College friends?

Proud owner

Does anyone still own their first car? I don't think I even have a photo of mine...............it was a very ugly green Hillman Hunter. I did love travelling in this dear little Morrie, we never got anywhere fast but we got there. Wonder what Pete drives now? I drove a 1967 MG for many years until it became just too impractical with two children and have had station wagons ever since.............daggy but great with kids, dogs, bikes, surfboards, kayaks and camping holidays. Did Scott ever get his Porsche 911 that he lusted after in 7th Form?

Note this is a Polaroid photo............I think these are rapidly becoming a thing of our past!

14th July 1984

What were you doing on that day................did you attend the Progressive Dinner for 7th Form students? I remember making rapid costume changes in the car while travelling to the next course. I recall Nick's family had set up the dining room at their home in a very oriental style with Chinese newspapers covering the tables. I'm sure we all had a great night...............sadly I don't have any photos of this event. Does anyone have some? Gee we must be getting aged, we were allowed to bring 'RECORDS' to play at Gary's! No mobile phones either..............I still don't have one! Not sure if anyones parents still live at those addresses? Does anyone know contact details for Jackie who is apparently in the UAE, Glenn or Nick? All the others have been accounted for, the list of people found is really growing but any help finding others would be appreciated. I don't want someone to miss out on knowing about the reunion or this blog.
